Who we are

A Colorado Springs dumpster rental company owned by the people who answer the phone

We love the outdoors, we work together every day — and somehow we still choose to spend most of our free time together too.

Neither of us took a traditional path to get here, and we definitely didn’t grow up dreaming about owning a dumpster company. But our very different backgrounds have shaped the way we run this business today.

At the center of it is something pretty simple.

Work hard. Care about people. Do what you say you’re going to do. And pay attention to the little things. How we run the company
Brandon Dinkel · Owner

Brandon: business started early

Brandon was born in Aurora, Colorado, and grew up around entrepreneurship, construction, and a dad who had a huge influence on the person he became.

His dad owned Damage Prevention Industries, where he consulted with companies and invented products designed to prevent freight damage while goods were being transported by rail or tractor trailer. Later, he transitioned more heavily into construction, building spec and custom homes.

Watching his dad think, create, and solve problems had a lasting impact on Brandon — so did the emphasis on integrity and work ethic. Responsibility had to be earned. When Brandon worked for his dad, he started by sweeping floors; if he didn’t do a good job sweeping the floor, he wasn’t moving on to something with more responsibility.

How you do the little things is how you do everything. The lesson that stuck

Before he was 16, Brandon was already working full-time in construction. At 16, he started his own siding, window, and door company. By 18, he had partnered with a framing contractor and was helping manage a crew of around 40 people.

His path from there included spec homes, commercial construction, projects at the Air Force Academy, fitness businesses, business consulting, real estate, and fix-and-flip projects.

It wasn’t a straight line. The 2007 housing crash hit while he was building spec homes in Bend, Oregon, forcing him to adapt and change direction. Other ventures brought successes, mistakes, hard lessons, and plenty of pivots.

Through all of it, he learned that good businesses aren’t built on one thing. You need the right people, systems, an understanding of the numbers, and accountability. But underneath everything, people have to be able to trust you. Eventually, Brandon made his way back to Colorado — the place that has always fit the outdoor lifestyle he loves.

Rene: taking care of people comes naturally

Rene is also a Colorado native, and being active and outdoors has been part of her life from the beginning. She grew up waterskiing and wakeboarding at the lake, riding dirt bikes around her family’s property, skiing in Vail, and spending as much time as possible around horses.

What began with riding lessons eventually became high-level competitive equestrian sport — traveling the country, qualifying for major equitation finals including Madison Square Garden, and training and showing horses through college.

One of the most important things Rene learned, though, didn’t come from a classroom or a show ring.

People want to feel heard. They want to know they matter. And they want to know somebody genuinely cares about helping them.Still how she approaches people today

She later operated her own training barn while raising three young children. Horses taught Rene responsibility, discipline, and how to stay calm under pressure. They also taught her to put the needs of something entrusted to her ahead of her own.

Rene grew up working in her family’s 209-unit mobile home park as well — yard work, rental-home repairs, operating the water system, working with tenants. It was very hands-on, and that suited her just fine.

To this day, Rene would much rather jump in and help than stand back while someone else struggles.

She graduated from the University of Denver with degrees in Communications and Spanish, and became fluent in Spanish while studying abroad in Spain.

How we got into dumpsters

Then we started building together

A boat storage lot, a phone call, and a retiring owner — that’s genuinely how it happened.

When Rene’s family sold the mobile home park, she was looking for her next chapter. Brandon was working in real estate, and together we started buying and renovating houses. We quickly figured out that we worked well together.

Brandon naturally gravitates toward the big picture — the numbers, systems, strategy, equipment, and where things need to go next. Rene is much more focused on what is happening right now and the person standing in front of her. Brandon tends to be factual and black-and-white; Rene leads with emotion and empathy. Those differences have turned out to be one of our strengths.

Eventually, a pretty random series of events led us into the dumpster business. We stored our boat and toy hauler at a facility where some dumpsters were also being stored. A phone call eventually connected us with the owners of an established Colorado Springs dumpster company who were preparing to retire.

We liked the business, we liked the foundation they had created, and we saw an opportunity to build on it. So we bought it.

What makes us different

We happen to rent dumpsters

Brandon has always believed businesses generally choose one of three lanes: good, better, best. We want to operate in the best. That can be surprisingly difficult to communicate when what you’re selling is a dumpster.

If someone is shopping for a Ferrari, they already know they’re looking for a certain level of performance and experience. Someone shopping for a dependable everyday vehicle may have completely different priorities. Neither choice is wrong — they’re simply looking for different things. Dumpster rental is harder because, from the outside, one steel container can look pretty similar to another.

To us, customer service is the baseline. Customer experience is what people remember. We know we won’t be the right fit for everyone, especially if price is the only consideration. That’s okay.

Our goal is to provide enough value that when someone chooses us, they understand exactly what they’re paying for: reliability, communication, accountability, care, and one less thing to worry about. Every rental is a flat rate that includes delivery, pickup and disposal — see bin rates and sizes or walk through our dumpster rental process.

So the difference has to show up everywhere else
How the phone is answered
How well we listen
Whether we show up when we say we will
How carefully we place the dumpster
Protecting the driveway
Communicating along the way
Cleaning up when we leave
How we respond when something doesn’t go perfectly
Sometimes it has nothing to do with dumpsters

Sometimes somebody just needs help

A true story from the office

One of the best examples of Rene’s personality came from an elderly woman who called our office asking when her new refrigerator was going to be delivered. She had ordered it from Lowe’s. We are, of course, not Lowe’s.

Rene tried several times to explain that she had reached a dumpster company, but the woman simply wasn’t understanding. So Rene stopped worrying about why it wasn’t our problem. She got the woman’s information, called Lowe’s, tracked down the delivery, called her back with the schedule, and later let her know when the refrigerator was on its way.

The woman called afterward to thank her. We’re still not convinced she ever understood she had called the wrong business. But that story says a lot about how we think people should be treated.

We see a much more serious version of that when someone calls after losing a parent and suddenly has to clean out an entire home — sometimes from another state. They may need a dumpster, but they might also need a realtor, painter, contractor, flooring company, or simply somebody local willing to point them in the right direction.

There’s a story behind why most people call us. We try to remember that.

Our team

Our team is an extension of us

We hire people based on character before experience. We can teach the rest.

Office team member answering dumpster rental calls in Colorado Springs

We can teach someone to operate a truck, deliver a dumpster, answer the phone, or use our systems. We can’t teach someone to genuinely care. We look for people who are positive, coachable, honest, ethical, accountable, and willing to be part of a team.

Mistakes are going to happen. If someone on our team makes one, we want them to tell us immediately. We can solve almost anything if we’re honest, communicate, and take responsibility.

Nobody on our team is above jumping in either. Rene may answer phones, train someone in the office, and then get into a truck to deliver dumpsters when the field needs help. That’s just who she is — and it’s the kind of culture we want surrounding our customers.

Colorado is home

We live here, and we work here

Outside of work, we take advantage of being Colorado natives as much as we can. We spend our summers wakesurfing at the lake, mountain biking, camping, and riding side-by-sides. We ski, Brandon hunts, and Rene occasionally joins him.

We’re a blended family, and family time matters to us. Even though we own and operate a business together, we still try to protect one date night every week. We genuinely enjoy doing life together.

It also means the people delivering your dumpster live in the same towns you do — and they know the roads, the driveways and the HOAs.

What we hope people remember

When someone hears “Bin There Dump That Colorado Springs”

01
Those people know how to do things right.
02
If you need something done on time, they’ll make it happen.
03
If you have a challenging situation, they’ll help figure it out.
04
If something goes wrong, they’ll own it and make it right.

We may not always be the cheapest dumpster company. That isn’t the lane we’ve chosen. Our goal is to make sure everything is handled correctly — the communication, delivery, driveway protection, pickup, and cleanup — so the dumpster becomes one less thing you have to worry about.

But if someone finishes working with us and remembers only one thing, we hope it’s this:

They actually cared about me.That’s the kind of company we want to run

FAQs

Questions about the company

Who owns Bin There Dump That Colorado Springs?

Brandon and Rene Dinkel, a husband-and-wife team and both Colorado natives, own and operate the Colorado Springs location. They bought an established local dumpster rental company from owners who were retiring, and they are involved in the business every day — Brandon on equipment, systems and operations, Rene on the phones, the office and the customer side.

Is this location locally owned?

Yes. Bin There Dump That is a national brand, but this Colorado Springs location is independently owned and operated by Brandon and Rene, who live here. The trucks, the bins, the office and the team are all local, which is why you get a local Dumpster Consultant rather than a national call center when you dial (719) 686-8613.

How big is the fleet, and how many customers do you serve?

There were about 100 dumpsters when Brandon and Rene took over. Today there are more than 200 Residential Friendly bins, and we serve more than 3,000 customers each year across Colorado Springs and the surrounding communities.

What makes Bin There Dump That different from other Colorado Springs dumpster companies?

From the outside, one steel container looks a lot like another, so the difference shows up everywhere else: how the phone is answered, whether we arrive when we said we would, how carefully the bin is placed, protecting your driveway, communicating along the way, cleaning up when we leave, and how we respond when something doesn’t go perfectly. Customer service is our baseline; customer experience is what people remember.

Are you the cheapest dumpster rental in Colorado Springs?

Probably not, and that’s a deliberate choice. Every rental is a flat rate that includes delivery, pickup and disposal, with no surprise fees — you can see the numbers on our bin rates and sizes page. If price is the only consideration, we may not be the right fit, and that’s okay.

How do you hire your drivers and office team?

Character before experience. We can teach someone to operate a truck, deliver a dumpster, answer the phone or use our systems — we can’t teach someone to genuinely care. We look for people who are positive, coachable, honest, ethical, accountable, and willing to be part of a team. Our core values are Integrity, Customer Focus, Excellence, Accountability, Innovation and Loyalty, with integrity above all of them.

What areas around Colorado Springs do you serve?

We deliver throughout Colorado Springs and 20 surrounding towns, including Monument, Gleneagle, Briargate, Fountain, Falcon and Manitou Springs. The full list, with a page for each town, is on our service areas page.

I’m cleaning out a family home from out of state. Can you help?

Yes, and it’s more common than you’d think. You don’t need to be on site for delivery or pickup — tell us where to place the bin and we’ll handle it. If you also need a realtor, painter, contractor or flooring company, ask us. We’re local and we’re happy to point you in the right direction. Call (719) 686-8613 or get in touch.
