If you’re planning a home cleanout, remodel, landscaping project, or move, you may be wondering: Do I actually have enough room for a dumpster in my driveway? The good news is that our compact residential dumpsters are designed to fit in spaces where traditional commercial roll-off containers will not.
At Bin There Dump That East Valley, our compact 10-, 15-, and 20-yard dumpsters are designed with residential driveways in mind. Even our largest 20-yard dumpster has a footprint of 8 feet wide by 11 feet long, making it possible to place a dumpster on many standard, short, or otherwise limited space driveways.
How Much Driveway Space Should I Have?
The dumpster itself isn’t the only thing to consider – placement and delivery space matter too. Our dumpsters are only 8 feet wide. A standard two-car driveway is typically around 16 feet wide – this allows us to spot on one side of the driveway while leaving the other side open for the homeowner to park on. We also measure every driveway during delivery to make sure the dumpster stays clear of the sidewalk.
Compared to traditional commercial roll-offs, our compact dumpsters are shorter in footprint and have two 4-foot rear doors instead of one large 8-foot door. The shorter doors require less space to open, which allows us to fit into shorter driveways while still allowing the doors to open and giving you easy walk-in access.
We also use custom smaller trucks built for tight residential neighborhoods, giving our drivers more ability to maneuver and carefully roll the dumpster onto our Protective Driveway Boards.
How Do You Protect the Driveway During Delivery?
Before placing your dumpster, our Delivery Expert evaluates the driveway and measures out the placement area so our Protective Driveway Boards can be positioned properly underneath the dumpster. We also ensure the bin will be clear of the sidewalk and we will measure to make sure the bin is placed correctly so the rear doors will open. The dumpster is then carefully placed on top of the Protective Driveway Boards rather than directly onto the driveway surface thereby preventing scratching and gouging.
We use Protective Driveway Boards with every dumpster rental to create a barrier between the dumpster and your driveway – in fact, we carry our custom boards on every single dumpster. This is especially helpful for concrete, pavers, and other decorative residential driveway surfaces.
What If I Still Need to Use My Garage?
Let us know! Dumpster placement doesn’t always have to mean giving up your entire driveway.
We work with each homeowner to determine placement that keeps as much of your property accessible as possible. If you need access to a particular garage door, electric vehicle charger, vehicle, walkway, or gate during your project, just let us know.
What Should I Do Before My Dumpster Arrives?
The biggest thing you can do is clear the intended placement area before your scheduled delivery. Move vehicles and other obstacles out of the driveway.
Our Delivery Expert can evaluate the space, measure the placement area, position the Protective Driveway Boards, and carefully spot the dumpster in the proper location.
Not Sure If a Dumpster Will Fit? Just Ask.
You don’t need an oversized driveway to rent a dumpster. With compact 10-, 15-, and 20-yard dumpsters, many East Valley homeowners have more placement options than they might expect.
If you’re unsure about your driveway, garage access, RV gate, or another tight placement area, contact Bin There Dump That East Valley before booking.
