Recommended size options:

4-Yard Bin
Our smallest size, the 4-yard is the go-to choice for landscaping projects like gravel, brick, concrete, sod, and soil removal. Due to weight limits, it’s the only size we offer for these heavy materials.
It can carry up to 4 tonnes, or about 2 pickup truck loads. Pro tip: You can wheel a wheelbarrow straight into the bin by laying down a couple of sturdy boards.
Bin dimensions: 9 ft long × 6 ft wide × 2 ft high

9-Yard Bin
The 9-yard bin is ideal for outdoor projects like trimming trees, clearing brush, or tearing down a small shed or deck. At just 7 feet wide, it’s especially useful in tight driveways or downtown Halifax properties where space is limited.
It holds about 4 pickup truck loads, making it a perfect choice for quick weekend jobs.
Bin dimensions: 9 ft long × 7 ft wide × 4 ft high

14-Yard Bin
The 14-yard bin is ideal for larger yard projects—like fence, shed, or deck removal, as well as overgrown trees and brush. It has the same footprint as our 20-yard bin, but with lower walls (4.5 ft high) that make it easier to toss items over the side.
It fits about 5 pickup truck loads, ideal for larger projects that still need a compact footprint.
Bin dimensions: 11 ft long × 8 ft wide × 4.5 ft high

Frequently Asked Questions
Our bins can handle most types of yard waste—branches, brush, trimmings, and debris from outdoor projects like shed or deck removal. You can also throw in other construction and recyclable materials.
Check out our disposal guide for more details.
They do not accept hazardous materials (chemicals, batteries, propane tanks, etc.), as well as food or pet waste.
Check out our disposal guide for more details.
Almost—but it depends on what you’re disposing of.
If you’re getting rid of soil, sod, gravel, concrete, or brick, we can only rent out our 4-yard bin for those materials due to weight limits.
If you’re mixing materials or not sure what’s allowed, we’ll help you pick the right bin for your job.
Clean loads (e.g. treated or untreated wood) cost less than mixed construction debris. If you’re able to keep materials separate, it can help reduce your overall cost.
Check out our disposal guide for more details.
You can mix treated and untreated wood, but they are considered different materials, so it would count as mixed construction.
We won’t know the exact weight until the bin is taken to the dump, but here are some general guidelines:
A full 9-yard bin filled with typical yard waste like branches and brush usually weighs around 1 tonne. A 14- or 20-yard bin packed with heavier debris—like logs, wet trimmings, or wood from deck and fence removal—can range from 2 to 3 tonnes. For dense materials such as soil, gravel, concrete, or brick, we only rent out the 4-yard bin, which often reaches up to 4 tonnes when full.
Weight depends on material type and how full the bin is. If you’re not sure what to expect, we’re happy to help you estimate based on your project.
